CariFree – New Ways To Prevent Cavities Before They Start

New Understandings About The Cause of Cavities

Science shows that tooth decay and cavities are caused by a bacterial infection known as dental caries. This is driven by an acidic oral environment.

Keeping A Healthy Smile While Preventing Cavities

CariFree employs pH+ technology to neutralize the decay-causing acids and treat the bacterial infection. This promotes long-term dental health as an alternative to simply treating signs and symptoms by filling cavities.

We can perform a quick, painless one-minute screening to determine your risk for cavities. If harmful, decay-causing bacteria are identified, we may recommend treatment of this infection.

Additional New Findings

Good oral hygiene isn’t enough to stop cavities. Even if you brush, floss, and visit us regularly, harmful levels of the decay-causing bacteria may still be present.

A bacterial infection on your teeth can also be transmitted to others. Studies show that harmful decay-causing bacteria can be passed within the household, so it is important that all members of the family are tested and treated.

If the bacterial infection remains untreated, progressive stages of decay may result. Advanced decay can require treatments like crowns or root canals, and ultimately, the loss of teeth. The cost of prevention is low compared to the cost of dental treatment needed due to dental caries.
